All artworks need to remain on display for the duration of the exhibition, and can not be removed before hand.

Talk to our friendly gallery staff to assist you with your artwork purchase. Please note some artworks may be sold throughout the duration of the exhibition, please enquire if you are interested in purchasing an artwork.

Call us on 8641 9175 or 8641 9100, if you are unable to purchase on site and we can take your order over the phone and post the artwork out to you at the end of the exhibition.

Freight costs will also need be paid for in advance.

ABOUT THE ART PRIZE

The Malka Aboriginal Art Prize was initiated by the late Mr Marvin McKenzie Senior, whose vision was to have an Aboriginal art show which ensured the Aboriginal community would have a space to showcase their work.

‘Malka’ is a word used by several Aboriginal language groups within the Port Augusta region, meaning mark or painting.

In 2023 it will be the 14th year the Aboriginal Art Prize has been held.

Entries in the 2023 Malka Aboriginal Art Prize are eligible for:

  • 2023 Malka Grand Prize Award - $20,000 AU (Mr Marvin McKenzie Senior Award) – sponsored by the Bungala Solar Farm, operated by Enel Green Power
  • People’s Choice Award - $2,500 AU Sponsored by KU Arts
  • Elder Award (60 years or over) - $2,500 AU
  • Youth Award (15 years or under) – $1,000 AU Sponsored by Uniting Country SA
