Our vision is to engage people in our vibrant community activities and convert frequent visitation into educational and cultural experiences that capture hearts and minds.
Port Augusta City Council launched their first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as part of National Reconciliation Week in Gladstone Square, Thursday 2nd June 2022.
Our first Reconciliation Action Plan paves the way for Council’s Reconciliation journey and provides a framework to guide towards creating an inclusive and respectful environment in which the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged, shared and celebrated.
By developing this Reconciliation Action Plan, we are attempting to develop a Port Augusta Community that accepts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to develop strong relationships built on trust and respect, and that are free of racism.
